The recent case of Dominique Strauss-Kahn brought to mind a bizarre case in which I represented Ronnie Lee Morgan, the third husband of Jackie Bancroft Spencer Morgan, the “Wall Street Journal” heiress.
Ron came into my office with a statement that he had been attacked and injured by a gay West Texas rancher, while staying at the ranch house. I asked Ron what had happened, and he said that as he was exiting the shower the rancher, drunk, grabbed him, seeking sex. I happened to know of this rancher and knew he was over twenty years senior to Ron and not in very good shape. I asked Ron how he had been injured. Ron took off his shirt exhibiting bulked triceps and said “he tore my implant. It hurts. I have to drain it twice a day. I want to sue him for all he’s worth.”
I never thought myself naive, but tricep implants? I had never heard of such a thing. Over time, I would learn that my client Ronnie Lee Morgan (http://www.ronmorgan.net) was a testament to modern-day cosmetic enhancement.
I write of Ron and his wife, Jackie, in my book: “Observer: The Ronnie Lee and Jackie Bancroft Spencer Morgan Story, a tale of people, greed, envy, manipulation — even crime”
