Ron Morgan’s goal was to get as much money as he could. Shortly after introducing me to Jackie Bancroft Spencer, I set up a blind trust for Jackie to funnel money and properties into that she wanted to give to Ron. Since he was in bankruptcy, he couldn’t receive such distributions directly. But that was Ron’s agenda, to receive as much money and property from Jackie as he could, and Jackie knew it. There was nothing hidden. This was their understanding.

Jackie, on the other hand, evolved from one agenda, when she first knew Ron, to another. In their early relationship, she was completing the building of the Spencer Theater. She sought Ron’s advice and help in the design and implementation of the interior decorating, particularly when it came to the Chihuly glass. Upon completion, her agenda was to take as many European and worldwide trips and cruises in her twilight years as possible. She expected Ron to accompany and entertain her on each, which he did.

I write of their experiences and relationship in my book:  Observer: The Ronnie Lee and Jackie Bancroft Spencer Morgan Story, a tale of people, greed, envy, manipulation — even crime.
